Installing Windows OS in DigitalOcean Droplet is not possible by normal methods because Windows ISO cannot be installed in one click like other scripts on DigitalOcean Marketplace.
The following example will walk you through the process from start to finish. Once you reach the end of the wizard, your server will be working properly with the Microsoft Windows operating system.

PREREQUISITES
- DigitalOcean Account(You can create if you didn’t have, with this link to get a signup bonus of $100)
- DigitalOcean Droplet(Minimum 4GB RAM Recommended)
- Remote Desktop Connection Software
By default, Digital Ocean Cloud Services now has no Windows images on its servers.
So you can’t install a Windows operating system on a Digital Ocean Droplet like you can on Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Vultr, or other cloud services that allow Windows installations.

Manually Configuring Your Droplet IP Address: Unfortunately, you must manually configure the IP addresses assigned in Microsoft Windows in order for your Droplet to access the Internet.
At the bottom of the droplet console window, you’ll find the public IP address, subnet mask, and gateway of your droplet.
In addition to configuring the public IP address, subnet mask, and gateway, you also need to set up DNS servers. We provide the following DNS server IP addresses. However, you can use any DNS server.
Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8
Alternative DNS server: 8.8.4.4
Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection
If you have manually configured your droplet’s IP address, you can connect to it directly using Microsoft Remote Desktop.
You have installed Microsoft Windows successfully in the DigitalOcean Droplet and now you can access this via Microsoft Windows Desktop Connection Software.
Note: Change the password for the “Administrator” account.
